Security Cameras for Your Business

Adding security cameras around your business helps make it a safer place to be. There are many different kinds of security technologies, but there is a reason why security cameras have endured for so long. Here is a better look at three of them in particular.

Adding security cameras around your business helps make it a safer place to be. There are many different kinds of security technologies, but there is a reason why security cameras have endured for so long.

Analog Security Cameras

This type of camera you should only consider for your business, known as the analog security camera, as a last resort. These have been in service for the longest time, which is why they are the camera that manufacturers have phased out of production. Images detected by the lens are recorded on physical storage formats. This means that cords and wires are a necessary part of the setup. Even so, they do have some lower-cost advantages.

For one thing, they are more affordable than other models of security cameras. Different types of analog cameras are easier to mix and match. That said, when you want to upgrade to a new system entirely, you would be wise to invest in IP cameras.

IP Cameras

IP cameras are also known as internet protocol cameras. These models are one of the most recent innovations to hit the market. All images are compressed as video files and sent via an internet connection through a network. One benefit of using these cameras is by eliminating one apparent weakness: the wires. Although you can rely on a wired Ethernet cable, you don’t have to. A WiFi router can also make a difference, and it is much easier to protect against any potential tampering that could leave a hole in the security systems you set up to keep your business safe.

The networks associated with the IP cameras are encrypted. Because of this, they are much more stable and reliable. Intruders won’t be able to easily hack into the network controlling your camera’s operation and disable it. Image quality and field of view are also superior to those provided by traditional security cameras.

Night Vision Cameras

Finally, let’s have a look at night vision cameras. These cameras are especially useful at night or in conditions when there isn’t much light available. If an intruder is determined enough to sneak onto your property when no one else is around, then more than likely they aren’t going to be considerate enough to only try something during regular business hours. Night vision mode should switch on automatically depending on environmental changes. Infrared light helps the camera “see” in the dark.
